Some players might secure impressive contracts, while others might not, but this IPL Mega Auction promises to be thrilling. This year, several high-profile foreign and Indian players are set to enter the auction, including KL Rahul. Previously, KL Rahul played for the Lucknow Super Giants and served as their captain. There’s a chance Royal Challengers Bangalore may bid for him in the 2025 Mega Auction.
Another notable name not retained by his franchise is Shreyas Iyer. Shreyas was the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 and even led the team to victory, securing the trophy. Despite his success as captain, KKR decided not to retain him. Shreyas is a skilled and experienced player with strong leadership qualities, so it’s expected that many franchises will compete to add him to their teams in the auction.
Another surprising release is Rishabh Pant. Known for his explosive batting style, Rishabh has the ability to dismantle any bowling lineup on his day. However, Delhi Daredevils did not retain him for IPL 2025, making him available for the auction.
One of the younger players who received a significant retention offer is Rinku Singh. After playing for KKR for several years on a modest contract, his consistent hard work paid off, and he’s set to earn around 13 lakh in the upcoming season.
